New York-primarily based architecture and design agency Stonehill Taylor has completed Somewhere Nowhere, an immersive new lounge, nightclub, and pool in Manhattan. Situated atop the Renaissance New York Chelsea Hotel on its 38th and 39th flooring, the 5,150-square-foot notion is created to echo the hotel’s whimsical ethos—with antique brickwork and picket ceiling beams that enhances the lush floral atmosphere.
“We required to keep genuine to the ‘secret garden’ notion and layout aesthetic through the rest of the lodge,” says Wally Aubuchon, senior inside designer for Stonehill Taylor. “It was also crucial to continue to keep the roof lush with plantings and greenery to weave in the garden concept.”
The multisensory encounter ensconces visitors in a fairytale, starting with decadent archways punctuating the entrance to a dreamy passageway. The style team appears to be like to simulate all 5 senses by vivid lights, an ground breaking audio procedure, and curated forest scents.
Customized artwork depicting gnomes and fireflies animate the inside, whilst neon signage and fantastical lantern sconces remember a bygone world. Bricks are painted black to instill moodiness complementary to environmentally friendly marble stone lining the foundation of the bar. Tailor made wallcoverings featuring about-scaled flowers in sultry, saturated tones stretch throughout the 20-foot-tall walls.
