The homeowners of Bend’s woodsy-chic Dogwood Cocktail Cabin have turned a midcentury motel on strip shopping mall-significant Third Street into a hip boutique base camp, full with twinkle-lit trees and a cocktail lounge, Canteen.

ROOMS: The hotel has a variety of sleeping solutions, which includes king, double queen and bunk beds and a two-bedroom suite. Our double queen, built in dark brown leather with pops of orange, experienced all the amenities you expect in a fashionable guest area — full tub, no cost WiFi, 55-inch flat screen Television, complimentary, domestically roasted pour-about coffee — with charming retro touches, like a vintage radio with fashionable hookups. Outside inspiration was just about everywhere, from the lantern-like lighting to the wall-sized, sepia-toned photograph of bygone Oregon lumberjacks.

ZZZ’S: Our beds were tremendous cozy, which was essential following a working day of fly-fishing on the Crooked River and another spent exploring a lava tube cave. We melted beneath the Euro-type linens and desired to acquire home the poofy, nylon-design orange throws fashioned from sleeping bags.
