Ashley Cole names Chelsea team-mate he’d never share a hotel room with again

Ashley Cole has revealed the one former Chelsea team-mate that he would never share a hotel room with again.

Former England left-back Cole must be no stranger to a hotel room, having traveled around the world while playing for club and country.

The Arsenal Invincible and Champions League winner with Chelsea enjoyed a truly glittering career over the course of 20 years.

Cole is perhaps most famous for his time at Stamford Bridge, where he spent eight seasons before joining Roma.

And the 40-year-old admits that while a certain team-mate of his became a very good friend, he wouldn’t be too keen on bunking with him again.

“Shaun Wright-Phillips,” Cole told Hotels.com when asked if there was an ex-teammate he’d never share a hotel room again.

“He’s always on the phone yeah, he’s my bro, but he’s always there on the phone.”

Cole also spoke about Chelsea’s fine form since Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard and their chances of Champions League glory this season.

“It seems to be going well, you know, the results have been good, he is winning games, the players seem to enjoy playing under him,” Cole added. “So yeah, so far has been very impactful and very good.

“I think the young players like Mason Mount, Reece James, Hudson-Odoi are really stepping up and

they’re contributing to the already experienced side. They’ve got the quality players to win it.

“They can definitely challenge for a major trophy in Europe.”

Cole can’t quite put his finger on what has changed under Tuchel, but admits that things seem to be going swimmingly under the German.

He added of any changes under Tuchel: “I am not a hundred percent sure, but you know, something has changed of course, because you know the results have been positive, they’ve been winning games, not conceding too many goals.

“So, at the moment he’s got the key players back fit and playing well, so something has changed, but I’m not too sure what it is yet.”
