Abatement request likely for boutique hotel near Snow House

A proposal to build a boutique resort at 41 W. New England Ave., adjacent to the historic Snow Residence creating, appears to be choosing up steam. 

Builders beforehand advised ThisWeek the hotel’s advancement is not monetarily feasible without a tax abatement.

Kevin Rohyans with the New England Progress Co., the group guiding the proposal, reported developers strategy to utilize for an abatement sometime in the subsequent couple of months. 

Precise timing and dates for this application are not apparent at this moment, he said. 

“I have to get our things place with each other and communicate to the town about how they want to do it,” Rohyans said. 

Worthington economic-development director David McCorkle formerly advised ThisWeek the city delivers up to a 75% home-tax abatement.
